About Offprint

Offprint was started in 2019 by a graphic designer and a photo editor who were tired of the same two things: searching through ten thousand almost-identical pictures, and reading licence terms that seemed written to be misunderstood.

We keep the library small on purpose. Every image is looked at by a person, checked at full size, and tagged by hand with what is actually in it and where there is room for type. We reject far more than we accept.

The name comes from the printing trade, where an offprint is a separate copy of one article, pulled from a larger publication. We liked the idea of taking one good thing out of a very large pile.

Who is here

Seven people in a former print shop in Ghent: two editors, a licensing manager, two developers, a bookkeeper and someone who answers your emails. Contributors work from Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway and a few other places, and most are amateurs who take pictures for the pleasure of it.

How we work

  • We say the price on the page, in euros and in dollars.
  • We reply to every message, usually within a day.
  • We do not track you around the web. See the privacy notice.
